ISR Survival Swim Lessons

Welcome to Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) Survival Swim Lessons! Our unique approach focuses on teaching essential self-rescue skills to infants and young children, ensuring they can save themselves if they ever find themselves in or around water alone. With one-on-one private lessons tailored to your child's needs, we conduct 10-minute sessions, five days a week., Monday through Friday. On average, it takes about 6 weeks for children to master these vital skills, but our commitment to your child's safety means they will complete the program only when they are fully skilled and water safe!

What your child will learn...

Rollback to Float

For infants & children 6 months to 16 months old

who are not yet fully walking.

All students, even those as young as 6 months old, learn the fundamental ISR skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest, and breathe. Infants and toddlers who are not yet walking well will learn to maintain this position until help can reach them, and it's just as important for our older students as they incorporate more swimming skills.

Swim Float Swim

For children ages 15 months to 6+ years old who have a strong, stable, independent walk.

As toddlers and young children gain more physical skills on land, they are ready to learn more skills in the water as well. ISR teaches children to swim a short distance, rotate onto their back to a floating position to rest and breathe, and then turn over to continue the Swim Float Swim Sequence until they can reach safety at the steps, side of the pool, or shoreline.

*Swim Float Stay (Hybrid)

This is for children 10 months to 2 years old that just started walking or started walking at a very young age.

In some less common situations we will teach Swim Float Stay, which is a hybrid of Rollback to Float & Swim Float Swim. These students will learn to swim a short distance and if they cannot reach an exit (stairs, side of the pool, ladder) then they will rollback to rest, float and breathe. They will remain in a float until someone picks them up. This is also a great option for those families that cannot commit to the full 6 weeks of lessons or are just visiting/traveling to Hawai'i for a few weeks.
